This grant is available to contribute towards the cost of an annual sports club membership for the beneficiary (former employee) and the beneficiary's spouse or dependent partner.
This grant is NOT available to dependent children.
Grant Policy
You must apply for this grant in advance of incurring any costs by paying for your membership. It is your responsibility to ensure you have a system in place to remind you at least four weeks before your membership is due to be renewed if you wish to apply for a grant. Retrospective applications will NOT be considered.
Applications will be considered by the Trustees in the following circumstances:
- a grant contribution of up to £400 for an annual sports club membership.
- the grant is available every twelve months from date of expiry of a previous membership.
Guidance notes for applicants
The sports grant is intended to support and encourage physical exercise, an important part of a healthy lifestyle. It is available for those wishing to join a gym or sports club for a year. It is not available for social club membership.
- each applicant should complete the Sports Grant Application form (the main beneficiary and spouse/dependent partner) which can be downloaded using the link below.
- evidence of the cost of membership should be provided with the application form(s) as advised to you by the club you wish to join.
Those wishing to join Bannatyne Health club should contact the BTPF office as different arrangements are in place for memberships at the Mansfield Club.
Applicants should be aware that sports grants are awarded at the discretion of the Trustees.
Process on receipt of a grant application
You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt of your application normally within one week of receipt.
Applications are sent to the trustees on a weekly basis and a response is usually provided within approximately two/three weeks although you should be aware that at times it may take longer.
Confirmation, in writing, of the outcome of your application, will be sent as soon as a decision is given by the Trustees. If a grant is awarded, details of how to access the grant will be included in the grant offer letter.
