We offer a range of grants and benefits to qualifying former employees of Mansfield Brewery plc, their spouse and their dependents at the discretion of our trustees.
This includes support in times of particular need; to support with health and wellbeing, encourage an active lifestyle and to advance learning.
Grants are awarded on the basis of eligibility, a completed application for support and, are at the discretion of our trustees. Applications must be made in advance.
Trustees approve urgent grant applications within 24-72 hours of receipt. However, the Trustees recognise that occasionally there may be exceptional circumstances which make it difficult for Beneficiaries to submit a grant application in advance.
Our policy remains that Beneficiaries must submit a grant application in advance of committing to any expenditure. However, the Trustees do have a discretion to consider retrospective grant applications in those exceptional circumstances where it would have been difficult to submit a grant application in advance. In these cases it would still be helpful if the Beneficiary could contact the Office before incurring the expenditure – as there may be steps which could be taken which would increase the chances of the application being approved.
However, Beneficiaries need to be aware that any financial commitment they make before a grant offer is awarded is done at their own risk.”
The grants that are currently available are listed below. Click on the name of the grant to access further information and guidance before considering an application.
Applications are sent to the trustees on a weekly basis and a response is usually provided within approximately two/three weeks although you should be aware that at times it may take longer.
Confirmation, in writing, of the outcome of your application, will be sent as soon as a decision is given by the Trustees. If a grant is awarded, details of how to access the grant will be included in the grant offer letter.
The application process must be adhered to in all circumstances and a grant offer in place before you commit to any expenditure.
Reimbursements are not made and you will be responsible for any costs incurred if you do not have a grant offer in place.
You should note that all grants are discretionary, and the trustees review their policies regarding the allocation of grants regularly. This means that grants can be added and withdrawn at any time by the trustees. As trustees of a discretionary settlement, the trustees cannot give a commitment to provide benefits indefinitely.
