At the Baily Thomas Provident Fund, we understand that recovering from a stay in hospital or a serious illness can be a difficult and stressful time. The short-term care grant is designed to provide short-term support for beneficiaries who need temporary care to aid their recovery and enable them to go home and stay at home.

The grant is also available for beneficiaries who are awaiting further funding or assessment and who need short-term respite care as a result.

The Baily Thomas Provident Fund will consider funding up to £2,500 per annum towards short-term care. The grant is designed to cover up to a couple of weeks in a care home or temporary care at home to enable beneficiaries to return to normal life.

Please note, the trust’s policy is to pay your care provider directly for any care provided as part of the grant.

Discretion of the trustee

Please note that all grants are awarded at the discretion of the trustees. The trustees will carefully consider your application based on the information you provide.

Please ensure a grant is in place and approved before any purchases are made. The trustees are unlikely to pay a retrospective claim unless there were exceptional circumstances meaning it would have been difficult to submit a grant application in advance.
